Both controllers have accelerometer and optical sensor that is built in for the recognition of motion.
The controllers can have attachments for another controller use, like the Wii Zapper for playing shooting games and the Wii Wheel which can be used for all Wii racing game but it is original made for Mario Kart. The Wii Remote can still be used as the classic controller.
The alias Revolution was typical put to Wii because the gaming was totally changed as the said console is released.
